What you need to supply for IDOD neck turning service
In order to properly turn your necks, you are going to have to send these items and prep your cases this way;
- The proper size fclassproducts Case Holders for the IDOD/AUTODOD found at https://fclassproducts.com/case-holders-for-the-idod-autodod/ ($65.00)
- You must pick appropriate one for “Fired” brass.
- You must also provide the fcassproducts Shoulder Angle Cutter for IDOD/AUTODOD found at https://fclassproducts.com/shoulder-angle-cutters-for-idod-autodod/. ($75.00)
- These items then become yours and will be returned with your neck turned brass for future neck turning needs. If you are going to be turning brass of a different caliber, then the same items for that caliber must be provided.
- You must send “fired” brass that has been carefully handled so there are NO dent or dings in the case or case neck.
- Do not clean, anneal, or any other case prep. Must be shipped straight from the barrel after fired.
- I turn cases to around .0012”. Again, this is determined by your case concentricity and how much can be taken off. Average is turning a case from about .0014” to .0012” or .00125”.
- Brass must be shipped to me in a case so that each case is in it’s own separate slot in the case and foam or something on top of it to protect it. This is very important so there is no damage to the brass in shipping.
- The IDOD and AUTODOD is designed for customers looking to get full clean up of the inside and outside of their brass for consistency in their loading and accuracy on the range. To achieve full clean up on your brass the neck and body run out need to be less than the amount you are removing from your brass. This machine is perfect for customers who are turning high quality brass such as Lapua, Norma, Peterson, or Alpha with minimal amounts of run out in the neck to body of the case. For example, a customer originally starting with .0145" neck wall thickness before turning and less than .002" thou neck to body run out, then turns their brass to .0125" will see full clean up around the case neck. This is very important that your brass has excellent concentricity or it will not clean up properly.
- If you have any questions, please use the “Contact me” link on the website found at: https://hitthexreloads.com/contactme/
- If by some chance the brass is damaged due to something I have done, I will replace the brass with the same brand and caliber if still available.This does not cover your brass if you did not follow instructions above.
Costs
- Costs are determined by the amount of setup time for your cases. This is included and will be $0.95 per case plus return shipping.
- Unfortunately there is the one time cost to you of the required Case Holder and Shoulder Angle Cutter. But after that if you want more done in the future, just send along the ones you already purchased.
